Ozamiz City-  Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez and Schools Division Superintendent  Dr. Rosa Lantaca has distributed the  various school supplies  and school bags for the grade one-grade three pupils in public elementary school in the rural areas.
The distribution of the said school supplies was started  mid of July, by Mayor Nova herself and Mr. Federico Arañego Jr., one of the education supervisor s of DepEd Ozamiz representing Dr. Lantaca.
For this school year, this project is  dubbed as  Abag pang-eskuwela gikan ni Mayor Nova.
Dr.  Lantaca lauded the young Lady Mayor for choosing  the school supplies and school bags project for the depressed barangays, because this is the real needs of the school children.
“ This is very timely, unexpected answer to the basic needs of  school children. It helped their attendance in school , “ Dr. Lantaca pointed out.
The Schools Division Superintendent added, that  the Department of Education  itself has been implementing  programs in helping indigent school children to continue their studies in amidst of their parent’s financial scarcity.
“ Ozamiz is very lucky because our mayor is into this directionâ€, Dr. Lantaca said. Â
The Abag pang-eskuwela gikan ni Mayor Nova project is funded under the Local School Board Funds jointly implemented by the office of the city Mayor and the office of the Schools Division Superintendent
Giving of school supplies and school bags is the pet project of Mayor Nova even before she became the Mayor.
Based on the National Household Targeting System survey of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office for the Pantawid Pamilya Program ,   families living in the rural areas of  Ozamiz are all sending their children to school but the chance  of completing  the  elementary education is   thin.
She has the  fervent desire of giving gift to school children may it things or  foods as what she did way back   time of her 19th birthday celebration years before she decided to enter into politics.
Dr. Lantaca said, she gave big†9†rating for Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez for her strong commitment  to support  in improving  the  physical aspect of all schools within Ozamiz and helped promote education by attending to whatever needs a school administrator approached to her office.
“ I appreciated her priorities especially for DepED  in  which I can best  tell how sincere she is in achieving the vision of  “Better Image better livesâ€.
Dr. Lantaca clarified that Mayor Echavez  has just  served as the local chief executive of Ozamiz for about a year and a month but  she completed  several school buildings funded under the Special Education Fund. Â
The official records from the list of infrastructure projects ,  classrooms and school buildings construction funded under the local school board is already amounting to more than P3-M for a period of just one year.
