Miss San Roque is Miss Ozamiz 2012

Anjannette  D. Amante a 17-year old , first year  Hotel and Restaurant Management student of La Salle University from barangay San Roque is crowned  as Miss Ozamiz Tourism 2012 during the grand coronation night of the Search for Miss Ozamiz Tourism 2012.

Amante  who stands   5’5” tall  has reigned  the pageant  over the 15-finalist  after receiving  eighteen various awards  including “face of the night “ title  before the  announcement of  the top five to compete the most coveted  beauty title of Miss Ozamiz Tourism 2012.

Her runners up  are  Roderl  Anne Fuentes  from Tinago, Carrissa Donna M.  Bacor of Carmen Annex, French Kate Hammermuller  representing barangay Malaubang and Nove Mae T.  Opena of  Gango. (PIO-Ozamiz  City)

Fifteen lovely Ozamiznon ladies vying Miss Ozamiz Tourism 2011

 The pageant committee completed their tremendous task in selecting the  fifteen finalists to compete the most coveted  beauty title of Miss Ozamiz Tourism 2011 in a screening held last June 24 at Naomi’s  Botanical Garden.

 The fifteen finalists were screened out of the 51-beautiful candidates from the 51-barangay of the City, indorsed by the  barangay council.

The grand selection and coronation night will be on July 14, in celebration of the City’s 63rd Charter day Anniversary, to be held at the Governor Angel Medina Memorial Gym.

 Who will be the next  Miss Ozamiz Tourism from the barangay, next to Jane Margaret Tamparong , Miss Ozamiz Tourim 2009, or  Kristel D. Suizo, Miss Ozamiz  Tourism 2010?

First Hulaw-hulaw festival a success

The first barangay initiated tourism activity has marked the victory for barangay San Antonio which brought fame and honor not only to the elected barangay officials but to the entire populace as well, making the first Hulaw-hulaw festival a success held last June 12, 2011 a success. The Hulaw-hulaw festival is a showcase of different dances and rituals depicting from the old tradition of the fisher folks in a quest for the abundance catch of fish. Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez said, the Hulaw-hulaw festival initiated by the barangay officials which was strongly supported by the barangay people is a laudable move in promoting Ozamiz City. The Hulaw-hulaw festival is dedicated to the beautiful island of barangay San Antonio locally known as “Hulaw-hulaw” . The Island is covered with beautiful white sand with crystal-clear sea water located around four kilometers away from the coastline of the barangay. Punong Barangay Danilo Batchar in an interview said, he will sustain the Hulaw-Hulaw festival even after his term of office as Punong Barangay, as legacy for his people. Batchar is one of the blessed fellow from the abundance of the Panguil Bay, which Hulaw-hulaw

Ozamiz to Celebrate 63rd charter Anniversary

Ozamiz to Celebrate  63rd  charter Anniversary 

This coming  July 16, 2011 Ozamiz City will be turning 63 years  old for being  a chartered City of Misamis Occidental since the approval  of  Republic Act   125 , the law converting  the municipality of Misamis into  Ozamiz City  on July 16, 1948.

Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez has already instructed the  City Tourism Board and the City Tourism Office to release the program of activities  for the celebration. (City Information Center)

Suizo captures Ms. Ozamiz Tourism 2010 title

Ozamiz City Public Mall after three years of operation now started to be self liquidating

A 19-year old  Kristel D. Suizo won the City’s most prestigious  title the Ms. Ozamiz Tourism 2010 during the final selection and grand coronation night held at Governor Angel Medina Gym  on July 14, 2010.

This year’s beauty queen Ms. Suizo, a 4th year nursing student of Misamis University ,  together with her princesses ; 4th runner up Ms. Barangay Gango, Czarea May Zingalawa; 3rd runner up Ms. Barangay Tiumfo Stellar Rose T.  Dolores; 2nd runner up Ms. Barangay Carmen Carylle E.Candongo; 1st runner up Ms. Barangay Molicay  Denise Miene A. Sagario.

Suizo coveted two major awards; the best in talent title and best in swimwear attire   while Sagario also got two major awards ; adjudged as Ms. Photogenic, and best in gown.

Suizo  stands 5’7” tall  and the vital statistics of  34- 26- 36.

Region-10 Department of Tourism  Director  Catalino “ Butch”   Chan III graced the coronation night who personally  presented  the DOT trophy to Ms.  Ozamiz  Tourism 2010.

Director Chan was the chairman of the panel of the board of judges for the pageant.

The ABS-CBN talent Mr. Erik Santos  serenaded the candidates. He rendered few songs for the occasion.

The new  and gorgeous  mayor of the municipality of Baliangao Misamis Occidental Svetlana Jalosjos . daughter of the controversial  former Zambonga del Norte congressman Nonong Jalosjos,    has  did  her amazing song renditions  during the coronation night.

Ozamiz City Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez, Governor Hermie Ramiro and former Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr. crowned the queen.

Search for Ms. Ozamiz Tourism beauty pageant is an annual beauty search. This is the highlights of the city’s charter day celebration which coincides the feast day of the patron Virgin  Our Lady of Triumph of the Cross.

Search for Ms. Ozamiz Tourism is getting excited every year, as the organizer institutionalizing the pageant a real search for beautiful Ozamiznon ladies in which the fifty one (51) barangays will have to present each candidate to be screened to get fifteen (15) finalists  vying for the tiltle Ms. Ozamiz Tourism.

This is the second year of the pageant having true beauty of  the Ozamiznon’s vying for the Ms. Ozamiz tourism title.

The organizer started  searching  and showcasing the hidden attractive and beautiful  Ozamiznon ladies in 2009, thru the suggestion of then Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr., as the city’s  preparation in sending of candidates to big beauty  search in the country.

Questions asked during the final selection were based on the environmental program of  Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez , which is Go, Green and Bloom Ozamiz.
