Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., as the local chief executive and Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez as head of the legislative department of the local government unit of Ozamiz had led the groundbreaking ceremony of the P100-M 3-kilometer construction of Ozamiz City Clarin-Interior Bypass Airport Link on January 24, 2014.
Representative Henry Oaminal of the second congressional district of Misamis Occidental was the invited honored guest to the occasion.
The department heads of the local government unit of Ozamiz, together with the DPWH key personnel were also present during the groundbreaking event.
OCCIBAL is one of the major infrastructure project of Ozamiz City funded by the national government implemented under the multi-year initiative of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
The 3-kilometer road construction project will start at the junction of Best-bike at barangay Aguada Circumferential road traversing Bacolod-Gango passing thru Ozamiz City Airport.
The P100-M is an initial amount for the OCCIBAL’s total project cost which was previously approved at P 280-M. The original feasibility study of OCCIBAL was made in 2008 and it is being revalidated recently.
Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez is the brain-child of OCCIBAL thru the concept of airport road widening, during her term as City Councilor and chairman of the Committee on Infrastructure. (City Information Center)
