Barangay Cogon – The Misamis Occidental Water District (MOWD) has successfully installed its first barangay expansion services in upland barangay last January 24, 2014 at barangay Cogon.
Mayor Reynaldo “Aldong” Ozamiz Parojinog Sr., and his daughter-Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez, MOWD General Manager Ferdinand Revelo and the Board of Directors of the water district Alein Quiñonez and Retired Col. Jeorge Neri had led the turning –over of the project .
Congressman Henry S. Oaminal has also spent his time for the occasion despite of the hectic schedules in congress.
MOWD has considered barangay Cogon for their first expansion project due to the consistent request of Mayor Aldong.
Though barangay Cogon is situated near Kokok water pumping station, one of the water district’s source located at barangay Bagakay, but it is in disadvantage position due to its high elevation.
The Water System Expansion project cost MOWD One Million Pesos (P1-M) for its aluminum reservoir the mainline piping and the submersible pump.
Punong barangay Leonarda Macayran said, the water system’s expansion in Cogon has addressed the 64 years problem of potable water for household consumption. (FKH-City Information Center)
