OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Dec 18 (PIA) – The Ozamiz City Schools Division (OCSD) was declared first runner-up in the 1st DepEd Skills Development and Competition of the Department of Education in Northern Mindanao.
This was attended by elementary pupils from the 14 schools divisions of the region, the 2-day event was held at the East City Central School, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, recently.
The skills competition included those on Home Economics, Agricultural Arts, Industrial Arts and Entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, Dr. Allan G. Farnazo, Officer-in-Charge of DepEd-10 has congratulated all the winners and commended the active and valuable support of all the contestants, coaches, judges, school administrators, School Division Superintendents (SDS), Assistant SDS, DepEd officials, local government units, parents and all others participants of the event.
Particularly, the winners from the OCSD were as follows: April Rose Bullanday and Stacy Mabel Leonardo, Maningcol Central School (CS), 3rd place in Table Setting and Table Skirting.
Shine Queen E. Malon, San Antonio Elementary School (ES), 3rd place, Invented Snacks and Adrian T. Bohol, Andrea D. Costanera ES, 8th place, Asexual Plant Propagation.
Glaiza Kate B. Plaza, Ozamiz City CS, 5th place, Dish Gardening and John Lloyd L. Sanchez, Dalapang ES, 2nd place, Photographic Silk Screen Printing.
Lizzie Mie B. Brigoli, Domingo A. Barloa ES, 4th place, Sales Inventory and Nelson Jumawan, Jr., Maningcol CS, 10th place, DepEDnomics and Trade Fair.
Farnazo said the over-all ranking of the competition show that the Gingoog City Schools Division emerged as Champion, while the other divisions were ranked as follows:
Misamis Oriental, 3rd, Cagayan de Oro, 4th, Iligan City and Malaybalay City, 5.5th, Misamis Occidental, 7th, Oroquieta City, 8th, Lanao del Norte, 9th, Valencia City, 110th, Camiguin, 11th, El Salvador City, 12th and Tangub City, 13th. (RCAguhob/PIA10-Misamis Occidental)
