Ozamiz City Chief of Police Superintendent Michael Bawayan and Mayor Reynaldo O. Parojinog Sr., had joined hands in a fierce fight against illegal drug particularly shabu that still circulating within the City lately.
The PNP scored numerous successful operations against illegal drugs from the seriously infested barangay San Roque, Santa Cruz, Tinago, Triunfo and Malaubang down to the less infested barangays, Maningcol, Banadero, Carangan, Calabayan, and Tabid.
As the LGU and the PNP applied different tactics in running after the drug traffickers, the criminals are also changing the strategies selling Shabu .
One of the pushers captured in a buy-bust operation last week at Barangay San Roque was selling sachets of shabu near the foot bridge connecting San Roque and the Public Mall.
The said suspect was selling shabu in the middle of Banana plant near the foot bridge like selling candies with a small plastic table and a plastic chair . There were Sixty small packs of cellophane containing white substance believed to be Shabu together with some cash amount were recovered from the position of the suspect.
Early this March, Two big “Langub” or drug dens were raided by the PNP with Mayor Parojinog. Four people were arrested during that raid, Three of them were male and a female.
The said drug dens were converted into police detachment s , one in barangay Tinago at the back of the Bureau of Fire Protection Station and the other one located at barangay San Roque.
These police detachments are manned by the members of the City PNP and some intelligence operatives.
